Default Vesta 24 - Chelsea - Condo

http://www.24vesta.com/
231 Tenth Avenue
New York,New York 10011

Overview
Nothing compares to the vibrancy, rhythms and moods of city life. That is one of your reasons for living in New York. Chelsea in particular provides a diverse range of urban pleasures including dining, contemporary gallery hopping and unlimited retail shopping options. Your home should be as modern and sophisticated as the city itself, but it should also be a calm and luxurious place, a refuge where you can relax and enjoy solitude or friends and family. A place like Vesta 24

Default Vesta 24

This building is decent. The architect, Garrett Gourlay, is also designing the 48 story tower at 111 Washington Street.

A partial wooden facade was incorporated into the Max Mara store on West Broadway at Prince a few years back (below). The result was pretty stunning when it first went up, but the wood isn't aging as well as could. As anyone who has wood siding on their house knows, wood needs on-going maintenance (unless you like that greyish, splotchy look).

Default Weathering wood

The wood veneer utilized on Vesta24 is neither on a wood core nor solid wood, it is in fact a high-density panel composed of a thermosetting phenolic resin-bonded cellulose fibre core faced with natural wood that has been coated with formulated acrylic resin-PVDF protective finish.

Aldous Huxley would term this "wood surrogate."
