What to expect: An elaborately carved stone façade frames the glass-door entryway of this 17-story brick hotel. Inside the Bedford, white marble steps descend into a small, wood-paneled lobby accented by gold silk-covered walls and a large iron-and-glass chandelier. Families and leisure travelers who appreciate the hotel’s midtown location mingle in the richly decorated lounge area adjacent to the lobby.

Amenity highlights: To the right of the lobby’s reception desk is a quiet, crimson-and-gold sitting area decorated with teakwood accents, silk-covered walls, and plush upholstered sofas and armchairs.
