Default How do I get to Albany, New York?

Hello, I live in the South Bronx, New York. I have the number 2, 4, 5, and 6 trains in my area. I know these trains doesn't get you to Albany, but I am sure I have to transfer somewhere. I need to get to Albany, New York. Do anyone knows How do I get to Albany, New York from the Bronx? How long does it take to get there? Thanks

Since Metro North does not go to Albany my advise is to catch an Amtrack Train out of Penn Station to get to Albany. You can book the tickets at www.amtrak.com in advance (which is really the best choice I think)

Take the 2 and transfer to A or C to get to Penn Station.

If you don't want to go all the way to Penn, go to the 125th St 4/5/6 Station, walk over to Metro North and take the Hudson Line to Poughkeepsie, then transfer to Amtrak's Empire or Adirondack service to Albany. You'll have to check the schedules for transfer timing.

Alternatively you could go to the Morris Heights Metro North Station but it sounds like you are further east, unless there's a bus in that direction.

Penn Station to Albany is listed at 2 and a half hours, and I have heard delays on that route are common.

Albany is not as close as you might expect, it's a good 150+ miles from the city. Almost halfway to Canada.
