londonlawyer--joking aside, I got a chance to see the crown yesterday and I think it is made of frosted/smoked glass.

Of course, it was very high up and it is not exactly easy to see from the ground but that's what it appeared like to me.

Anyway, rest assured because it does look very good and high quality.

I got some information and they told me that the crown is made of stainless steel panels!!!

Default Zoning Site and Calculations
Has anyone got thier hands on the Drawings listed in the CPC Sept. 19,2007/Calendar No. 15.
Specifically Z-001 Zoning Site and Calculations
Z-004 Building Sections
Z-006 Pedestrian Circulation Space
I'm trying to figure our how they went from a total construction Floor Area of 577,787sf per DOB to 490,311sf per CPC. Interesting stuff huh.. :bash:

One ugly pile ^

The new tower(s) at 440 W 42nd will banish it to obscurity (except for those traveling by bus).

The zebra building is up there with the Verizon building near City Hall as one of the most atrocious very prominent buildings in New York -- and that's no mean feat, as there's lots of competition.

The new tower(s) on 42nd will block the zebra ... but whether it/they will be an improvement remains to be seen.

So i guess i will have to go to the DOB building to get my answer huh...
