If I were you and had a limited amount of time, I would skip places where you may have to wait in line or deal with a lot of people people it's exhausting and time-conmsuming (Harlem mass and Empire State Building are good examples of that). Chinatown is full of cheap, touristy shops and looks like a slice of China in the Middle of Manhattan, but otherwise it looks just like Chinatown in any other american city (just bigger) and is not very attractive - there's really nothing there to see except discount electronics shops and lots of restaurants. You can also skip Brooklyn botanical garden. It's nice, but when you have so few days, there's nothing earth-shaking there and it may take you some time to get from the beach to the botanical garden. And it's also pretty small compare to, say, NY Botanic Gardens in the Bronx. My personal opinion is that Central Park is much more beautiful than Brooklyn Botanical Garden and is large, has beautiful views and is free.

of agreement in a direction with you, but I must make discover New York, and I badly see not making a turn has the empire state building, nor go has a mass gospel; it is like making visit Paris without passing by the tower Eiffel and a mass to the cathedral NOTRE DAME.

of the same chinatown, which American who came to Paris is not to go to make a Barbes turn.

if not I prefer to walk in prospect park, that in central park.

Hint: There is hardly ever a line up to the Top of the Rock, but the Empire State line can be 1 hour +

Plus from the Top of the Rock you can see the ESB!!

And Top of the Rock is open until MIDNITE :)

it is a good idea, but unfortunately I read English well, do not write it terrible, understand it very with difficulty and speaks it like a Spanish cow. therefore I make a special dedication for the Haitians of New York :D

unless apart from Paul Auster (and Charyn), there is another New Yorker which speaks French ? :D

for me, that will be my fourth voyage to New York, but friendly dice required of me to make them visit the city in six days, from where this small planning!

Six days it is already not badly, that me A suffices for my first voyage to fall in love with this city :):):)

Comelade, it's true!
I've been in NY only once - in october 2004 - just for a "job affaire" and for 15 days only. I'm a lawyer and I was so busy that I could see something just in Manhattan (where I lived) and Chelsea... I fell in love with NY since the first day and - believe me - my biggest dream is coming back for a longer time 'cause what I felt during those days was quite special... I felt "at home", it's hard to explain but I walked in the streets just as I've always known the town... my friends don't understand what I mean... maybe u'll do 'cause you love NY too!:)
