I noticed that the PATH and NJ Transit connect NY and various parts of NJ.

Any real diff between the two because different companies and routes?

Well back to my main question, we could end up going to Atlantic City, NJ in a little bit and my question is, using one of these two or both (if that's better) would be the easiet to go and see NY for a bit.

I am just looking for the cheapest way but I don't know what to really look at or look for or if for this seneriano if I should even use PATH or NJ Transit.

I always hear on Law & Order and other shows that people in NYC can go down to Atlantic City at night and still be back by next morning.

There are lots of buses to Atlantic City leaving from Port Authority. I think that's how most people go.

^ I agree.. There is no direct rail line between NYC and Atlantic City. Having to backtrack to Philadelphia makes it quite annoying. Here's a link RedPenguin showing the departure and arrival times for Bus 319 from Atlantic City to New york.

PATH to Newark, then you would have to wait for the NJT Trenton train. If you really wanted to waste time, from Trenton you could take the NJT Riverline to Camden, then transfer to PATCO to Lindenwold. The NJT AC train stops there. :)
