hi there! just looking for some help: I am moving to NY for 3/4 months, and I am looking for an "honest" rent.Considering I will have to commute everyday to Manhattan, by train or car, which area would you go to? I will appreciate any help, I am completely lost. Thanks in advance
:)

Are you interested in living in the city or the suburbs? If the latter, I recommend White Plains or Bronxville. They're close to the city (30 mins to Grand Central by train) and have nice downtowns. The rent in both will be a lot cheaper than in Manhattan.

Where in Italy are you from? I have friends in Rome and Milan.

Hey, thanx a lot, at least now I have some point to start from!:)

Actually I do not really care whether it is suburbs or city, it will just be some months, so, you know... priority will just be being in a reasonable distance from Manhattan, with reasonable prices. Some place where I have access to the highway and to a train station would be great.
I am from Naples, even if I have been living in Alicante (Spain) for 3 years now. And I spent 1 year and something in London. That's where you are from, aren't you?

No problem!

By the way, check out craigslist.com for cheap rentals. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message.

In answer to your question, I lived in London for 2 years but am from NY.

PS: My great-grandparents are from Naples!
