question about digital photography - your help is needed!

dear forum-readers,
I'm using my photoshop for editing my pictures.
the only thing is: when I use them on Ebay, they seem more compressed then before. can somebody explain that?

From that page:

Pictures that have been resized before uploading can suffer from lower quality resolution. Remember, Picture Services will automatically resize uploaded images to the dimension of 400(w) x 300(h) pixels--there's no need to do it yourself. For higher quality images, try uploading pictures with the original dimensions unaltered.
