Here's the nest of PaleMale. A redtail hawk that decided to make its residence on one of the 5th Avenue Townhouses on Central Park East. Check him out at

Time Warner Center, disappointing? I suppose my expectations weren't too high. I certainly don't mind the subtle crown.

Which one?

Few birds can boast of such prime perches (or a website). The building's facade already has a sculpted raptor - it was meant to be.

You are right. I never noticed the sculpture. There was a special on PaleMale a while ago. I didn't know there was such die-hard birdwatchers in NYC.

I saw the baby chicks last year through a giant telescope set up across the Conservatory Water in the park. There were a few telescopes set up, and apparently there was some issue with the owner of the apartment fretting over all these people in the park looking through telescopes aimed at their window.

Very kewl thread ddny!

Time Warner Center, disappointing? I suppose my expectations weren't too high. I certainly don't mind the subtle crown.I've read quite a few times where forumers, particularly New Yorkers (not all) are disappointed in this development. I guess I would have ot see it up close 'n personal to make any judgement. Surely it is a welcome addition to a generally agreed in-the-past dilapidated Columbus Circle. Who can ever forget that once you've seen it.

It's also amazing that Russia is currently building relatively tall structures with crowns such as San Remo whereas for N.Y.C., it remains a glorious and romantic past.

LOL @ People photos in the sense that the first pic includes a sun hat - a crown of sorts.
