A friend of mine that works at a construction management company just got a request for proposal for his firm to start pre-construction on a 1 million sf plus office tower directly across the street from the Post office on 32nd and ninth, next to the lot that was suppose to be built by Shulweiss Realty, anyone have any info

The NBA tower is the site north of this lot. They are both in the Penn Station Area post I made recently.

"The 130,000 foot site, at the southwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 31st Street, will be home to a new 2.5 million square foot tower. Currently a below-grade railroad yard, the 51 story tower will be developed by Brookfield Properties and is designed by Kohn Pedersen & Fox Architects. The tower was slated for construction in early 2003 and occupancy in June 2005 but the downturn in the office market probably put the tower on hold for now."

Actually this is the South corner of the block, Shulweiss still owns the North corner lot, possible two tower could be built there, especially if th ePost Office is turned into Penn Station and has exists on Ninth Avenue, it would make these two projects a stronger possibility
