10 Liberty Street - up a few floors. Unfortunately, when asked, a worker told us the building will have a brick facade.

A brick facade wouldn't be necessarily horrible; I'm sure the building isn't going to look like a housing project. *The Chrysler Building has a brick façade, mind you.

Why are there windows missing from the AIG building? *Maybe they're just open? *Is it lingering damage from 9/11?

They must simply be open.

The building seem to have a very dynamic shape and so I can see where the brick might "seem" in appropriate. But aesthetics can be intangible until the final product.

And by now, we must all know that the hotel is not called "Millennium Hilton". Just look at the photo.

That is worrisome, Ghul. The appeal in downtown living is in context and history.

And in answer to the missing windows at 70 Pine Street, a stairway shaft. It has been like this pre-September 11th, and probably always like this. I still have to work enough nerve to get to the observatory one day.

Sorry, I posted before I even saw the picture.

I dont know about the windows, ventillation maybe?

The west-side of 70 Pine Street has a column of empty windows.

Nice photos. *I expect to get more construction when I return home this weekend. *As far as those new Downtown towers go, have we seen a rendering of any of these new residential buildings?
