Show up. Speak up.
They say New Yorkers are the most opinionated people in the world. True? Well, HSBC, "The world's local bank," wants to know what New Yorkers value and is inviting them to step up on to a soapbox and share their values on a variety of thought provoking topics, including: immigration, education, environment, marriage, privacy, fast food, jobs, children and technology. Let's hear it New York - because, only by better understanding what you value, can HSBC better meet New Yorkers needs.
HSBC invites you to step up on their soapbox to express yourself on Thursday, July 16 at Madison Square Park. Participants who step up on the soapbox may have a chance to appear in a future HSBC online advertising campaign. Check out all of the exciting events throughout the day including a live performance muralist, a values video wall, free gifts and more!
Where: Madison Square Park (23rd & Broadway)
When: Thursday, July 16th, 12-8pm
Why: The more HSBC looks at the world, the more we recognize that when people talk about money they are really talking about the things they value - things you won't find on a bank statement. That's why HSBC is asking people to express their true values. By understanding what you truly value, we can truly meet your needs. For more information on the HSBC Soapbox event go to: www.us.hsbc.com/values (http://www.us.hsbc.com/values)

I would like to come but cannot.

I wonder if the first speaker will discuss:

"HSBC, "The world's local bank, in the 19th Century Opium Wars of China"

Well that means that I really cannot come.

How was it?

Youtube videos anyone?

I didn't see any Youtube videos in a quick search, but I have seen an ad that has people talking about what their children mean to them. The Flatiron is in the background, and a couple of people step on a red and white box to say a couple of words ("I'd give up my career before I give up the kid", "There are 100 billion children in the world, why should I have one?").

If it was as open ended as the casting call indicates, I wonder if there will be other themes represented.

No mention of opium wars so far.
