I'd like to rollerblade on the boardwalk, as much of it as it is open right now, up and down. I don't recall seeing any people rollerblading though I did see people biking.
Is rollerblading allowed on the Hudson waterfront?

It is, BUT:

The boardwalk IN Hoboken is very small. You have either the bike lane (less than a mile and broken in two because of the Dry-Dock) and the pedestrian path (all brick paved, your feet will go numb).

I have bladed a bit up Riverside towards Edgewater, but I do not know if that is the greatest of ideas now. I only went as far as the once-driving range and now condos, but there are few uninterrupted sidewalks and the road can get pretty busy (and gravel strewn).

Your BEST bet is still grabbing the PATH or Ferry over to the west side (Christopher Street or the ferry to Battery Park) and ride the West Side. Otherwise, get in the car and ride out to Ridgewoods "Duck Pond", a GREAT path there leads you through from Ridgewood to, I am not sure but I think it MIGHT be Wayne?. A few miles of paved path alongside a drainage canal (public green space bordering it).

If you just want to blade a bit, I found the parking lot up by the Sands in Weehawken to be pretty nice too. (boring, but open).

Hope this helps!
