Some family friends are coming to visit me in NYC from California. They'd like to spend an afternoon "seeing Brooklyn," but having only lived here for a few months myself, and having only been to Brooklyn on sporadic outings at night (been working too much), I'm not sure where I'd take them so they could get a feel for the area. What neighborhood is the most immediately appealing to visitors? We'll probably just spend a couple hours walking around, and maybe grab some coffee or dinner. I was thinking Park Slope probably fits the bill, but I wouldn't know which subway stop to use, or which streets have the bext mix of interesting restaurants, stores, and brownstones. Any suggestions?

I like Clinton Hill, Cobble Hill, and Ft. Greene. Lots of cute shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and beautiful Brooklyn architecture.
