NYC Museums: "Season" Tickets?

Hey guys,

since I will move to New York City in about a week and really look forward to see all different kinds of museums I wonder if there is such a thing like a "season" ticket for the most popular museums in Manhattan. Does anyone know?

Becoming a "member" of a museum grants you a free entrance and other perks. For example, membership in MoMA is $75/year giving your a free entrance anytime and $5 tickets for your companions.
