Im planning a trip to new york in Aug 09. Im 26 but my sister will only be 20. What are the age restrictions like in bars and nightclubs. Will my sister be able to enter nightclubs and bars if only to drink soft drinks? Or do you have to be over 21 just to enter?

As far as I know, she can enter a restaurant that serves alcohol but may not enter a bar or club until she is 21.

Actually, the general rule as far as I know is 18 to party and 21 to drink but that all depends on the club.

Why don't you call a few and ask beforehand?
