The Empire State Building...

Is it me or is the Empire State Building looking a little dark these days? I am looking at it through my kitchen window and I cant hardly see it. Is the ESB going green or cutting back on electricity usage because of cost? :confused:

I think I might have just found the answer to my question. Found this on the ESB's website.

"During spring and fall bird migration seasons and particularly on cloudy, humid and/or foggy nights, when large numbers of birds are seen flying near the building, the tower lights are turned off. Observatory personnel on the 86th floor outdoor deck notify the engineers. The birds are attracted by the lights and there is a danger they will fly into the building and be killed"

....and actually I just looked up and they turned on the lights interesting....

It had nothing to do with the rain storm that just moved over the island? (Visibility from your perspective?)

Yeah I thought about that just now. I guess its the fog rolling through because I couldn't see it 2 nights ago either.
