Where do you get your cheap eats in New York? What's your favorite place? How's the food and the service? I'm curious.

You can get a good deal at salad bars with seating, also simple Chinese.

Indian Buffets can satisfy you for $10-$16 a shot at lunch. Just make sure that is your main meal for the day.

Other things are breakfast foods. You can still get an egg/cheese/sausage sandwich for under $5 (plenty of carbs and protien).

Anything specific you looking for?

Whole Foods on 7th. Ave. has a bacon and egg breakfast burrito for $4.00. It's very filling, especially for your arteries lol. ;)

I have..... behind port authority!!

Oh, there is another on, I would like to say 43rd and between Lex and 3rd? North side of the road, right next to the church.

I have heard it is decent, but I have not seen too many Italians going there, working there, or being seen within 50 feet of there (lest they risk being photographed...)

Smells better than the chains though.....

The place you're talking about near Lex is 99 cents a slice and it's decent for that price. It beats the hell out of the Sbarro that is within a block or so radius of it.

You could beat the heck out of Sbarro with a limp of Mozzerella.

It isn't too difficult. ;)

On Canal east of Center there's a Chinese place that serves up a very fine shrimp noodle dish for $2.

That dumpling place over by the park (chinatown, near the governmental buildings...) serves them up for something like 3-5 for a dollar depending on what you get.

Edit: Here it is

I go to 99 cent pizza nr. PA and get the "2 slices and a can of soda for $2.75!" (Your 2 slices are in a small box.) I take a short walk and find a nook, sit and have lunch while everyone zips by! I think their pizza is delicious.
