Someone has been watching "Ace of Cakes"

You know something? I would like, just for once, these cakes and these shows to be rated on how the damned thing TASTES!!!!


So far, in all my experience, the fancier the cake, the more it tastes like a surgery kitchen sponge covered with sweetened latex paint and Crisco.


Some of the best are still the simplest. The double chocolate cake. The fresh strawberry shortcake. The fancy schmancy ones with all the doo-dads and do-hickeys that take 3 days to build should just be varnished and put in the corner of the living room.
