View Full Version : Are there any copyright lawyers out there?

An unscrupulous former client is claiming copyright ownership of one of my artworks(two dimensional) and I never signed anything transferring permanent or exclusive ownership to them.
I don't have a lawyer and no idea where to start (searching online seemed fruitless), also intimidated by the expense for this kind of thing but I want to defend my rights and my property.
Does anybody know someone who knows about this stuff? If so, maybe we could PM? I'd appreciate any advice.

If you don't get a suggestion for a specific attorney, try http://www.vlany.org/

They have a hotline and also offer pro bono services if you meet their income guidelines (basically if you are poor enough, they'll do it ;)).

Unfortunate phrasing.

Start with the oldest post HERE (http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/search.php?searchid=2652606) and work your way through those four posts ...

Loft, your link is dead. I think it may have been deleted.

But lets not talk about that here anymore.

MTG, any news on the suit?
