just stretchin' some creative muscle here...a chance to have fun with some of the current topics on the site and an invitation for all to join in.
Without spending too much time on the various forms of Haiku, lets just keep it to the simple 5-7-5 format.
William Beaver has been a rich source of material and was a thorn in my side for years so...

Remember grasshoppers, a Haiku typically has 5-7-5 On in Japanese (gawd bless wikipedia), equivalent, roughly, to 4-5-4 or 3-4-3 syllables in English. Here goes:
NIMBY HAIKU:
New towers gleam
Across the water
Must be Jersey
SABI HAIKU:
Most old cornices
Have been stripped away
The ghosts remain
SPRING HAIKU:
They sprout again
The sunny daffodils
Spring is still cold
