View Full Version : What Happened To Punzie?

I tried to reply to Punzie via PM and got a message that she's no longer a member. Was she banned, and for how long? Hopefully it'll be a brief Gregory Tenenbaum-like banishment.

Yeah, you are right. Can't find her in the member directory. That is strange because I believe that even banned members would still listed.

As much grief some people have given her, I think she contributed a lot to this forum and it would be a shame to lose her.

This situation is being discussed currently in the moderators forum so I am not at liberty to discuss what happened or what will happen to her.

That said here is her public response that she posted on her blog:

To the Teens & Tweens who read this blog, (but are a bit too young to join this website):

I have been permanently banned from this website, so I won’t be posting on this blog anymore. I’ll be starting a blog somewhere else, and I’ll be sure to notify you where it is.
I was banned for breaking the rules of this website:
(1) Banned one week for publicly giving an 18-year-old man somewhat controversial advice on moving to New York City.
(2) Then banned permanently for posting “blatant spam."
I absolutely promise y’all that the public advice I gave the 18yo man was written in polite language and was not X-rated. You know that I would never do that!
I also promise you that I had no idea that I was posting blatant spam. I do not know where the blatant spam is—but when I find out, you can be sure that I’m going to remove it ASAP!
Please don’t ask me which moderator banned me, because I’m never going to tell you. If you happen to find out who he is, don’t be mad at him. The moderator was just doing his job: There are stricter Wired New York website rules now, and people who break them get banned.
This is the first time that I’ve ever been banned from a website in my entire life. I feel awful and regretful. If I had to do it over again, I would have found out what the new rules of this website were, and I would have followed them very strictly.

Some of you have admin status on my petz sites. I taught you about their operating systems because I trust you completely. Please promise me that you will never, ever hack this website, OK? Thanx, guys.

Most importantly, don’t any of you have bad thoughts about New York City because of this. Keep on visiting and enjoying this wonderful city. Keep on following your dreams to go to college here. I know you can do it!
See ya back with the petz,
Yer “Aunt” Punzie:)

Look Punz....a while ago I got a 30 point infraction for using the word "privates".... Now I've got a note on my post above accusing me of mocking a someone elses post (it was nothing even remotely of the kind.)... leading others to only imagine what the post said or who it was directed to... not very fair.

I've even been getting offensive moderater PM's like the following:

"It looks like I am going to have to give you individual instruction on what constitutes good manners on a case by case basis, since somehow how have avoided to pick up these social skills in the course of your life. "

Looks like we will be having another poll rather soon.

WHAT? THIS was my exact quote about my working in retouch:

Quote:

"While I'm here at the forum, I'm working. I don't keep a computer in my home. Right now I am removing hairs from a man's chest. I read a couple of posts and then go back to stray hairs or a pimple. I read about wind-swept plazas and then go back to his chest. We're talking about towers in a park and then I go back to a small scar just above the towel hiding his privates.

It's just wierd. Time to take a break."

Saying that "You got an infraction for what you said you were doing with those privates" is simply lying.

You continue to make a fool of yourself. I saved you embarrassment by not reposting it. That post was made in "Silver Towers - I.M. Pei" you deserved every bit of your 30 point infraction. Please explain to me how that was on topic?

The internet has a plethora of fetish websites. Make those posts there, keep them off this forum.

That wasn't in the architecture forum. Your post was off-topic, talking about picking hairs from a mans chest, privates, what have you has no place in a discussion about whether the Silver Towers should be landmarked.

Well folks... you all be the judge.

I said in the post "I am working".

I have posted my photography and art work here but even so, how "I'm removing hairs from a man's chest " could be interpreted as anything but pixels is beyond me. LOL.

So in other words, I'm running a beauty salon over here?

And how in the world, " We're talking about towers in a park and then I go back to a small scar just above the towel hiding his privates." can become "You got an infraction for what you said you were doing with those privates. Not for saying the word "privates"." is quite something.

I’m not going to keep going back and forth here. What you posted was off-topic and inappropriate if you have a problem with it take it to PM’s or take it to Edward. If any member posts anything off-topic and inappropriate I will delete it in a heartbeat and I will give them an infraction at my discretion.

Fabrizio
March 7th, 2008, 04:40 PM
Folks does ANYONE here not get that this is me talking about retouch work? Does anyone think that I ACTUALLY had a guy here and I'm removing chest hairs and pimples?!

Funny thing is, it was the exact truth. I was posting like crazy in the SilverTowers thread and also preparing glamour photos of a national Italian basketball team that we had taken a few days earlier. It was funny that while I was intensly posting about the SilverTowers, I was working on those photos and going cross-eyed.

I truly believe the form is hip enough to get the following:

"While I'm here at the forum, I'm working. I don't keep a computer in my home. Right now I am removing hairs from a man's chest. I read a couple of posts and then go back to stray hairs or a pimple. Well, actually Radiohead the PM to you was not the issue, nor did anyone say it was. It was her inappropriate PMs to other people and the complaints received about her posting that was the problem.

Her ban has been lifted, so we'll see what her blog says in the morning. Despite what she wrote to her "teens", "tweens" and other underage friends, she was sent a PM that explained exactly what was going on and why. She chose to make a public spectacle out of it. So now it is a public spectacle.

If she wants to say more on it, she is now free to come back and bring it on. She has made it public and I will certainly spell out the argument for her suspension to anyone who's interest has been stirred by her blog post.

Honestly though, the moderater's work here is much appreciated. And I'm in favour of seeing posting standards raised. I think the infraction system is a good thing.

But just as we posters can get out of hand, I think sometimes some moderators get out of hand. Only natural, and for me it's no big deal.

I also thought she took all the criticism on the chin and dealt with the moderating issues admirably. I'm frankly flabbergasted by the "blatant spam" charge. Surely not our Punz?

V bulletin software has point systems to put people on temporary bans. The only way to ban someone without a time limit is to use the 'Blatant Spam' option. Punzie is well aware of this, as she has expressed many times (and at great length) about her familiarity with the V bulletin system. Her pretending to not understand this concept is another example of how she is trying to diffuse the case against her in a disingenuous fashion.
That being said, the 'blatant spam' option can be lifted, and someone can regain full posting rights.

LOL. The utterance (especially when UTI) of the very word itself (edit: the "C" word, not the "R" word, but then again...) could constitute a dire symptom of the affliction. That "treatment" sounds gruesome.

Generally speaking though, I did not see anything wrong with what you said, except that:
