Has anyone ever seen this photo of Amelia Earhart. I was told it was taken in New York in the spring of 1931.

No, but the plane is a

Pitcairn PCA-2 Autogiro

In 1931, Amelia Earhart flew that plane in the Beech-Nut Transcontinental Flight. She took off from Newark on May 28th.

Nice picture Zippy.

I was told the photo of her with the Franklin and Autogiro was a publicity shot to show off her new purchases. She sure must have had the clout to buy both in such a hard economic time. But alias were are talking about Amelia Earhart! I have seen her Autogiro in other photos but not the Franklin. I do have a few 1931 newspaper reprints that show the exact photo of her with both vehicles. Is her home she had with George Putnam in Rye New York still standing?
