Actress Parker Posey will play a Hoboken yuppie in an upcoming half-hour comedy this season on FOX.

Posey will star in "The Return of Jezebel James," a highly anticipated series from the producers of "Gilmore Girls."

Parker is best known for her work as a quirky character actor in films like "Best in Show" and "For Your Consideration."

In the new series, she'll play Sarah Tompkins, a woman in her 30s with a cushy job at HarperCollins' children's division and a big brownstone in Hoboken who is dating a successful businessman, played by Scott Cohen.

The drama starts when Sarah discovers she can't conceive and must ask her flighty younger sister, Coco, to carry a child for her. The two sisters aren't terribly chummy and Coco only agrees to the request when Sarah announces she is turning Coco's imaginary childhood friend, Jezebel James, into a children's book.

Parker is joined by other notable actors in the series.

Lauren Ambrose, of "Six Feet Under" fame, plays Coco and Dianne Wiest, who won an Oscar for "Hannah and Her Sisters," will play Sarah and Coco's mother. Ron McLarty, of "Law & Order," will play the girls' father, Ron.

"Jezebel James" is produced by husband-wife team Dan Palladino and Amy Sherman-Palladino, who also gave viewers the popular series "Gilmore Girls."

The show premiers in January on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m.

On second thought, maybe I should just throw away the TV.

Sounds really realistic.

I mean, I can't tell you how many times an attractive 30 year old has moved into Hoboken to date her businessman BF and not be able to conceive so she asks her sister to be the surrogate while she writes a book about her sisters childhood imaginary friend.

I mean, it's like they have some sort of CRYSTAL BALL!!!

Nobody in Hoboken goes out to bars or restaurants, and none of them are single!

I mean, it would be SO unrealistic if they wrote a story about a young attractive female moving out to Hoboken after college, having difficulty finding a place she can afford, finding parking, getting booted, enjoying NYC but not having enough $$ to really enjoy it, meeting plenty of guys, but most being Richards....

Then shifting several seasons later where she does find someone, they go through the whole difficult stages of a relationship including moving in together and families, and get married.

Then they have two kids, find out how their lives change (like not being able to vacation, or go to restaurants like they used to) and eventually move to the suburbs because it is hard to raise kids where the schools and facilities are not the best.

From there you ave the next generation of Everyone Loves Raymond. But you could just call it Everyone Loves Rebbecca from the very start and be done with it.

Alley McBeal meets Friends meets Reality.

Nah, that would never work. Life just CAN'T be that funny... :p
