I am a Broadcast Journalism major from Louisiana, looking to apply for a summer television production internship in NYC. I have all the places picked out where I'm going to apply, but I'm wondering if anyone here at the forums has any advice on applying for internships - such as: is there anything in particular that NYC employers are looking for that might differ from employers in other states? I know I'm going to, for sure, get the applications out btween Oct. and Dec (unless that would be too early to send them in?), and I already have my unversities holiday schedule writen out so I know when I'd be available for interviews. One of my other main concerns right now is that I'm afraid that after all this preperation, I will end up not landing an internship.
