I keep hearing about it..... some huge party in October?

Anyone care to explain before I say yes to something that I know nothing about....

I've gone about 8 times over the years, being originally from that part of Jersey. It's basically a massive tailgate party (and a Breeder's Cup steeplechase horse race as the reason to throw the party).

If you take NJ Transit from Penn Station it will feel like every Manhattan preppy/yuppie is making the pilgrimage with you, and a bunch of Wall St. firms host impressive tents there for clients/higher-ups.

Almost everyone knows someone who knows someone who's bought a parking space and is hosting a tailgate bbq/cocktails (there are 100s of these), so you & your friends typically wander from car to car getting drunk and occasionally betting on a horse.

If you've been to a preppy college football tailgate (eg Harvard-Yale, Williams-Amherst, Army-Navy), then you get the idea.
