plant nursery

can anyone recommend a good nursery for house plants? I'm looking for a place with a big selection so i don't thinks there's anything in manhattan, where i am. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not much of a gardener but check out Chelsea Garden Center (www.chelseagardencenter.com) and see if they have what you want.

Hicks Nursery: Biggest selection, the nicest plants, low prices, employees really know their stuff. The only problem with it is that you'll dislike every other nursery you go to in the future.

Hicks Nursery is like a condensed arboretum. You may want to enjoy the experience for a few hours.

i headed up to hicks in wesbury on the last day off their sale. Picked up some great plants at half off. thanks you rapunzel.

You're very welcome, and if you go to the Chelsea Garden Center, could you please post a few sentences about your experience? I'm going to be in that area in the early spring, and I want to know if I should set aside some time to go there.:)

Since the time of my post recommending Hicks Nursery, I have gone there four times. Based upon my experiences, and a few related to me by others, I can not wholeheartedly recommend the nursery for regular garden purchases anymore. They are still good for special orders, exotic plants, and enjoyable browsing.
