Going in April Moving in August...Help plz.

Hey, Im going to NYc in April for spring break just because I love it so much. I plan to move in mid-August to go to school and since Im going to be in NYC in April I sorta want to use that oppurtunity to get a feel for what it will be like when (Lord willing) I move in August. SO does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do to accomplish this, atleast in part?
