My husband and I will be coming to the city in early April to scope out the area (Brooklyn specifically) in more detail, prior to our move. Flight tickets are cheap into LaGuardia. Score. Hotels, however - :eek:. We're going for a week, and I can't afford a $300/night stay at the Marriot, or similar. It's not my honeymoon anymore. ;)
If we were to stay on the outskirts, say Long Island City, or Brooklyn, would it be safe? We aren't 100% familiar with NYC and it's surroundings as a whole, which worries me, because I do not want to get lost, or put my life in jeopardy. Any reccomendations?
